Crystal Creek Rescue > Board of Directors

How We Work

We are a very active, working all-volunteer board at Crystal Creek Rescue. We are in all-day contact regarding operations in order to support each other and complete tasks in the field.

We believe an organization is as strong as its people. That’s why we are currently expanding our board to strengthen our network of funders/donors, volunteers, fosters, and create a robust grant-writing sector. Building our financial position builds our capacity to save more cats and deliver more spaying projects across NWA.

Our board meets monthly where we review our balance sheet, our cat inventory, capacity, policies and procedures, funding, and updates on projects. Our board’s main focus is to place our cats in good adoptive homes as soon as possible, which is why we are working to expand our board to better manage each part of that process.

Meet Our Board

President | Kira Brought

Kira is a leader in software development and life-long dog lover, she has spent years rescuing dogs – specifically her own three – Dottie, Dexter, and Dutch. Kira came in contact with CCR when she adopted her first cat love, Sugar. She absolutely fell in love with cats and all things she could do to help them and her community. She decided to volunteer with the rescue starting with helping run social media platforms. Kira now has a full pack of creatures that she calls family and continues to foster cats. In her spare time, Kira can be found doing art celebrating women and volunteering at her local children’s shelter.

Vice President | Jordan Newton

With the assistance of Crystal Creek Rescue, Jordan recently went from foster to adopter. He has taken great pride in adopting and caring for Farley and Finley, two charming kittens in need of a loving home. Through temporary fostering, Jordan quickly realized that his home was where these kittens belonged. He has since dedicated himself to further supporting Crystal Creek Rescue as a volunteer, fervently helping to aid felines in the Northwest Arkansas region. For his day job, Jordan is a leader in finance and sustainability.
